Highmat Discs

10 May 2003

HighMAT and Microsoft have just announced HighMAT CD Writing and Viewing software for Windows XP – 20030507 Lockergnome Digital Media. I agree with the Lockergnome analsys – I’ve read the HighMat site three times now and I still can’t figure out why I would want to be creating HighMAT media.

Security and Trust

09 May 2003

I like the observations about security and trust at SATN.org: Comments from Bob Frankston, David Reed, Dan Bricklin, and othersHumans gain trust by interacting and “getting to know” people. Transparent technologies that make it easy to see what people and companies are up to (in a sense the opposite of firewalls) are what help me trust. I like Reagan’s saying: “trust, but verify”. It implies that trust requires means for openness, not firewalls and secretiveness.

I am just too lazy to fix, and eventually my list of posts will grow long enough to fix it. it is amazing to me that MT ships with such a broken template.
